CONTRACT EXTENSION

The Los Angeles Angels announced they have signed 28-year old starting pitcher Jon Garland to a 4-year, $26.04 million extension.

Game #12 – Toronto [9-2] (D. McGowan 1-0, 4.97 ERA) at Chicago (A) [3-8] (J. Danks 0-1, 4.26 ERA)
Toronto lineup: SS J. Inglett – LF R. Johnson – RF A. Rios – DH F. Thomas – CF V. Wells – 3B S. Rolen – 1B M. Stairs – 2B A. Hill – C R. Barajas
Chicago lineup: CF J. Owens – 3B J. Fields – DH J. Thome – LF N. Swisher – 1B P. Konerko – RF C. Quentin – SS A. Ramirez – 2B D. Richar – C A. Pierzynski

It's always nice to jump out to a 7-2 lead after 1. Toronto scored 1 in the sixth and 3 in the seventh to make it close, but we put 3 on the board in the eighth—thanks to a home run by Josh Fields—to put the game away for good.

A.J. Pierzynski will be out 1-2 weeks with a bruised foot, so we'll put him on the DL and call up Cole Armstrong from Charlotte. So far in Charlotte, Cole was hitting .314 with 1 home run, 6 RBIs, and 5 runs scored.
