I don't know why my players haven't suffered. Two seasons ago, my oldest player, at 32, was out for 6 weeks. When he went out in May he was batting .240. I thought, before the injury, that he was starting to drop off in his ability. After his injury he went on a tear and ended off hitting .313 for the season.
This past season the 3 injuries of any significance had no effect. My star centerfielder went out batting .313. After 5 weeks injured during July, he came back and ended off at .310. The other injuries I have had over the past couple seasons were pitchers, yet they didn't fall off after their returns. Even the pitcher who got injured in Sept of the previous season and didn't return until June of the next season. He was his usual self which put me in a bind because the guy who took his place in the rotation was doing very well. I was disappointed that there was no effect, but at the same time I was glad their wasn't. Just didn't seem realistic to me that none of them paid any price after returning. All but the one guy I mentioned earlier were very young, under 24 years old, so maybe that plays into it.
Who knows. Maybe it has been just luck.
I will add however that a couple of the players did receive a hit on their ratings, but their performance didn't suffer.
