Title Fight
LW - (WBA) Abe Attell (CH) (41-12-3) scored a MD15 over Bobby Dobbs (16/19) (18-1) (pre) for his 3rd defense of the WBA LW title.
No cuts or knockdowns and it was fairly close fight until late. The judges cards showed 145-140/143-143/146-139. A mandatory rematch has been ordered for March. Dobbs rolled to fight at Prime and I put his career stage to prime but for some reason still fought at pre. He has moved to prime and will get a rematch, but the loss stands.
Title Tourney
LH - (WBC-First Round) John Wille (11/10) (23-7-1) continued to impress with a UD12 over Alfred Kearns (10/17) (15-3-3) to move to the second round of the WBC LHW title tourney.
Wille dropped Kearns in the 9th and then survived a nasty cut over his right eye in the 10th that was reopened twice. The scores were 116-112/115-112/116-112.
Other fights
HW - John C. Heenan (3/3) (32-9-1) TKO10 Dominic McCaffrey (21/27) (37-14-3) 87-83 weird thing about this one, McCaffrey has beaten Heenan twice yet Heenan was a 5-1 favorite and McCaffrey's ratings in the fight were horrible. His condition was fine so the only thing I can think of was that he fought as a boxer in this fight instead of a slugger.
WW - Jack Britton (1/1) (28-4-6) UD10 Dixie Kid (13/14) (28-17-6) 98-95
WW - Kid Graves (41/37) (21-9-2) UD10 Jimmy Mitchell (71/71) (12-15-1)
MW - Jack Burke (52/44) (28-18-6) UD10 Frank Fields (52/58) (18-9-1)
