The rosters never seemed to work right. Duplicate players, game erasing players having to tweak the modifiers a lot to get semi-realistic results, etc. Throw in the AI for free agent signing, roster management, and a slew of others is far behind where 6.5 was at and it just wasn't worth it. Most of the roster problems have been discussed ad naseum in the Mods forum.
