Just to verify because you didn't mention it directly, from that FAQ:
Are you using the OOTP 8 MLB Quickstart? If you are and you are crashing from HTML screens in-game, this is a known issue with no present workaround. Other types of leagues should not have this issue.
Which type of league are you running? A purely fictional one? Historical?
