While I'm by no means on the Remillard bandwagon, I will say that Magallon is no stiff - at least not on Friday night. He pressed forward for most of the fight and took Remillard's best punches. Even after going down once, he continued to come forward and throw punches.

While I did not see much of the pre-injury Remillard and have not been in attendance at any of his public workouts, he is a good fighter. Outside of Chad Dawson, there is slim pickings for homegrown fighters here in Connecticut.

Overall, I'm not really a big fan of the lower weight classes, mostly because the little guys really don't punch hard enough to hurt each other with true KO power. That being said (only my opinion), Remillard is a very accurate puncher and throws nice combinations. I still think he needs a few more "easy" fights to regain the form he had before his injury. At 22, he still has a lot of time to improve. Only time will tell.
