Slugger may miss ALDS

BOSTON - The Red Sox picked up a 6-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles but it came at quite a cost: the loss of third baseman Miguel Cabrera.
Cabrera was hit on the wrist by a pitch in the eighth inning and immediately dropped to his knees by home plate, holding his wrist. After manager Kevin Kennedy and the team's trainer came out to check on the star ballplayer. He was replaced by rookie Nick Huggins while Cabrera walked back to the clubhouse.
After being sent to a local hospital for x-rays and examination, it was announced Cabrera had fractured his left wrist. He is expected to be unavailable for the better part of two weeks - in a best case scenario - which means he is likely to be out for the American League Division Series.
