It really depends on what you're looking to do. I like to be able to compare apples to apples, and know that 50 homers in season X means the same thing as 50 homers in season Y, 30 years later. Using the game's era adjustments, that's not the case; 50 homers in 1984 would be far better than 50 homers in 1996.
