My game is in the "Applications" folder, though I noticed the installer installed the actual save games folder into "Documents." But it worked fine for me.
Dumb question, but are you substituting your name into the terminal command? When you type:
rm -f "/Users/your user name/.Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 9/config/app"
you should replace "your user name" with your computer name. I believe it should be the same name that the terminal line gives you when you open the terminal (minus the $).
