PHILADELPHIA - Yovani Gallardo and the Phillies held down the Boston Red Sox to take a 2-0 lead in the World Series with a 5-2 win.
Gallardo gave up one run on nine hits with no walks and eight strikeouts in eight innings pitched and also went 2-for-2 with a double at the plate.
Lou Farsey and Javier Ramirez had three hits each for the Red Sox.
The series will shift to Fenway Park in Boston for Game 3.
