Make sure you set the path to the modified DB after you select "Start Game".
In the advance mode setup it doesnt keep the path of the league DB that you picked like if you used the Creation Wizard to start a new league. (it picks the game default DB)

Paige appeared in my testing of 1920-50. [he went 283-235 in 23 years with the Phillies and the Indians]
