I have never been a fan of the scouting system on the previous versions of the game, but in order to try something a little more challenging, I decided to leave it on for my test run with the new game. I am finding that even though my scouting director is very good at scouting the major leagues (90 out of 100), when I turned the scouting off just to see how close he was, he turned out to be way off on quite a few players. I would think if the guy is supposed to be good and the game says to "trust your scouts", they shouldn't be that far off. I had a few guys that I traded for with 65 out of 80 as a potential rating turn to 35 or lower when I turned off the scouting. (I appologize to the above poster who is a Pirates fan, I took them for the challenge of turning them around, and they flat out stink in the game!!!) I don't think there should be that big of a discrepancy. I can understand that in real life they can be way off, but if the guy is supposed to be so good I don't think it should be that far off.
