Notes -

The EL playoff teams were pretty much set early on, but the one thing that remained in doubt was the destination of the Black Sea Division title. Sofia caught Athens in the middle of August and clinched the division with a last day win, whilst the Avalanche were losing to Warsaw.
Amsterdam pulled level with Glasgow in late July, but faded away and missed out on the playoffs with a last day loss to Milan.
Stockholm won only 3 of their first 20 after the All-Star break. On the other hand Warsaw started 24-7 after the break.
The Paris Cyclones fired their manager on the back of a 7 game losing streak, which made their record 47-58. Having the #1 overall pick obviously didn't help them.
Vienna and Madrid played a 19 inning game that was tied at 0 after 18. Madrid won 2-1.

Player Notes -

June's players of the month were -
WL Batter - Eskil Junge (London), .461/8/20
EL Batter - Aristo Fotiadis (Sofia), .359/7/28
WL Pitcher - Nike Rousakis (Milan), 5-0/1.24
EL Pitcher - Helmuth Siepel (Athens), 4-0/1.47
Fotiadis repeated his award in August. Siepel repeated his in July.
Zurich CF Benito Squillari (1st July) and Vienna 1B Lorenzo Gutierrez (31st July) both had 3 HR games.
Hampus Assar
(Madrid) throws the EBL's third no-hitter against Glasgow on 10th July. He also won the EL Pitcher of the month for August.
Constantino Deodato (Glasgow) homers and doubles in the bottom of the 9th inning as the Stallions score 7 runs to beat Dublin 14-13 on 11th July.
The undefeated streak from the start of the season of Gerd Buchert (London) finally finishes at 20 starts, with a 5-3 loss to Glasgow on 17th July. His record after the loss was 13-1 with a 2.11 ERA. He is still good enough in the rest of July to be named the WL's premier pitcher for the month.
July's hitters of the month are - WL: Lukas Stoger (Zurich), EL: Jamel Baud (Helsinki).
Aleksandr Palubicki (Milan) hits the league's first ever cycle in a 9 inning game in a 13-4 win over London on 2nd August.
Vienna's Jose Roman (WL Batter) and Moscow's Steve Moynan (EL Pitcher) are award winners for August.

Significant Injuries -

Athens LF Vadim Ivanenkov (.367, 13 HR, 53 RBI) fractured his cheek on 21st July and missed the rest of the season.
Lisbon lost two key players in August. SP Dragoljub Boskovic (11-5, 3.87 ERA) ruptured a disc whilst pitching and missed the rest of the season. SS Wilmar Dietzsch (.331, 9 HR, 57 RBI) damaged his MCL and is likely out for the best part of a year.
Sofia 3B Ianos Spurk (.308, 19 HR, 71 RBI) will miss the playoffs after rupturing his achilles on 6th September. Also missing the playoffs for them will be SS Timo Gereke, who they got in an early season trade from Hamburg and who hit over .300. Their star LF Aristo Fotiadis missed the last 2 weeks of the regular season, but should be ready for the playoffs. He had a chance to reach 50 HRs, but had to settle for 45.
London LF Eskil Junge (.316, 27 HR, 83 RBI) could be out until the middle of next season after fracturing his skull. The Crocs will certainly miss him in the playoffs.
36 year-old Vienna SP Magnus Leeuwenburgh (18-7, 3.18 ERA) might be out of baseball after herniating a disc. He will certainly be out for all of next season.
