Seems to be that many of the game's pull hitters are guys who hit a good number of homeruns (as measured by their era) but had generally less-than-average batting average. That doesn't stand up for every batter, but it is true of many of the strong pull hitters.
Guys like Tom Brunansky and Greg Vaughn stand out as examples.
What you could do is look at mlb.com and pick a year. Look at the HR leaders and then the guys with BA around .250 or whatever. Better than even chance many of them are pull hitters.
