Regional Championships - Game 5
Mexico City 4, Royal Canadians 3
The Aztecs entered Game 3 having taken homefield advantage in the America/Asia Championship Series and in general looking like a team that could advance to the World Series. Two games later, they were on the brink of elimination. They would bring back LoN wins leader Jose Gonzalez to try and stave off the long off-season (well, by "long" we mean a day or so since thanks to Tesla and Einstein the playoffs were conducted in "no time" but you get the idea).
This time, though, Jose Gonzalez came through with a complete game victory. Although he trailed for much of the game, when Antonio Mateo's flyball to left proved to be deep enough to score Luis Rangel from first base in the 7th, the Aztecs were not going to lose this series at home.
