Regional Championships - Game 6
When your third starter completely dominates your opposition, it's hard not to win a championship series. John Seaman shut down the Aztecs once again, yielding 1 run on 6 hits to lead the Royal Canadian Mounted Baseballists to the first World Series. It will be a Commonwealth series, but until Seaman made his appearance it still could have been a Zimmerman Letter series. George Bannerman went 2 for 3 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI for the Royal Canadians.
The Aztecs elected to start Sancho Perea, who had sported a record of 6-12 in the regular season but who also had been the team's best relief pitcher following his demotion to the bullpen. Given the choice between him, Game 3 loser Ivan Lopez, and 4th starter Juan Jaramillo (3-6, 5.21 ERA), it seemed like a solid decision. In the end, he pitched valiantly, but it was just not enough.
