I have been the Red Sox fan for just 15~16 years, and I know it is not long enough for any old-time true fans.
However, I am little proud that I became a red sox fan in the early 90's, when nothing remarkable was going on in Boston, (Clemens was having a long vacation after his long fat contract, Boggs was thinking about going to New York, and our hope was Jack "Swing and miss" Clark

You remember...)
I loved baseball ever since I was a little kid, but gave up on Japanese baseball after several traumatic incidents (well, it is a long story), and kind of lost the team to really follow.
That was the time I watched the MLB all star game on TV (I think it was like 1988 or 1989), and I really loved what I saw. The problem was that I did not have a team that I could root for.
I went to Boston for the college in 1991, and somehow fell in love with the Sox and the Fenway.
1995 was the year I truly enjoyed them, following the team as close as possible, going to the game so often I did not know which was my class room, Fenway or College.
I do not know why, but it somehow remained after I came back to Japan.
I maybe in Japan, but my heart is always in Fenway...
