Notes -

Stockholm had a 20-8 run to pull close in their division.
Budapest fired their manager in September, when they were 59-86.
Helsinki scored 11 runs in an inning in a 14-3 win over Athens.
Brussels lost 14 out of 17 to drop out of contention.
The WL Divisions were tied up early, but the Wildcard race was tight. Barcelona had a 10-1 run in September, while Dublin lost 8 in a row and London lost 9 in a row. During this run Barcelona beat Dublin 17-6 by scoring 10 times in the 9th inning. London lost in extra innings to Glasgow on the last day of the season to hand the Wildcard spots to the Iguanas and the Wolfpack.
The EL was pretty much all knotted up through all of August and September. Hamburg snuck up on the rails with a 15-3 finish to overtake Moscow, Athens and Prague, but the other teams involved were always within a couple of games of each other. Moscow lost 6-5 in 11 innings on the last day against Berlin to miss out on the playoffs.
There was a marked difference in the leagues with the WL having an ERA of 4.24 and the EL 3.83.

Player Notes -

Jan Heinonen (London) struck out 16 in a 2-1 win over Glasgow on 13th July.
Jonas Solvik hit a walk off Grand Slam in Amsterdam's 5-3 win over Paris on 14th July.
Max Sabin (Milan) was the WL Hitter of the Month for June and July. August's winner was Claudio Lwenholm (Amsterdam). The other 9 awards for the second half of the season were won by 9 different players. Bernd Vonschroeder (Budapest), Paulo Simon (Athens) and Pantalian Lobeiro (Helsinki) won the EL Hitter award. The successful pitchers were - Fillipio Nota (Milan), Jere Ronkko (Dublin), Emanuel Biancardi (Amsterdam), Klement Follerup (Moscow), Robert Wood (Stockholm) and Alexis Martin (Copenhagen).
Barcelona's Theo Brittain hit .274 with 8 home runs in 62 games for his new club and added some impetus to their race into the playoffs.
London Closer Phillip Haaland saved 49 opportunities in a row (dating back to 1982).

Significant Injuries-

1982's EL Hitter of the Year, Kyle MacKillop (Prague), has retired from the game after rupuring a disc. He is only 29. He was not having quite as good a year this year, but he was one of Prague's best players still.
'Pop' Annoni (Athens) missed all of July. He was hitting .266 with 12 homers and 36 RBIS at the time.
Brussels CF Jorge Perez missed 2 months with a torn groin. He was hitting .336 before the injury. The Hitmen also lost 2B Anatolio Jovine, who fractured an ankle and might not be ready for the start of next season.
