Sabin To Miss Euros

July 16th 1984 - Milan's reigning WL Hitter of the Year and European League Series MVP, Max Sabin, left today's game against Zurich with a back injury and the team doctors have confirmed that he will be out until the start of next year.

His injury will mean that he will also not be available for England in the upcoming European Championship. He would likely have been the first name on the team list for the Englishmen, but his torn muscle is going to take more than 6 months to fully heal.

He was having another superb season, hitting .364 with 24 home runs and 86 RBIs and is the EBLs all time leader in RBIs (as well as being 3rd overall in OPS).
