Thanks. I sometimes step away from it for a week or two, but I always keep coming back - I love replaying this era of baseball history. I haven't switched to version 9 yet (or bought it yet, for that matter). I figured I'd wait and let all the bugs get ironed out first, because I really don't want to end up backtracking to 1871 again anytime soon.

June 19, 1881 - Sunday Base Ball Report

Boston Red Caps 19-9
Cleveland Blues 18-11
Troy Trojans 16-11
Detroit Wolverines 15-14
Buffalo Bisons 12-16
Providence Grays 11-17
Worcester Ruby Legs 11-17
Chicago White Stockings 11-18

Boston scored a three-game sweep of the Detroit Wolverines last week to cement their hold on first place. However, they have a big test later this week, as they travel to Cleveland to begin a three-game series there on Friday. Troy and Detroit will also be battling this week, so there is an opportunity for some of the also-rans to make up some ground this week. In particular, Buffalo has looked good at times this season but does not have the record to show for it; perhaps this will be their chance to gain ground on the leaders.
