I don't see how it could possibly be any state outside of NY, CA or PA. I would have a tough time making a guess between the three but I'd say your assumption about NY is probably correct. NJ and maybe MA are likely a rung down from those three.
Someone, somewhere must have compiled this. In fact, I would be shocked if it hasn't appeared in the pages of the Ring somewhere along the way.
