Notes -

Copenhagen won 20 games in July and also had a 12-3 run in August to keep close to the Hamburg Heat and pretty much secure their playoff spot.
Milan were the first team to 100 wins, but they took their foot of the gas and Hamburg overtook them for the best record in the EBL.
Stockholm actually had a winning September to avoid joining the 100 loss club.
Budapest and Moscow played a game that was scoreless after 14, then both teams scored in the 15th. The Smoke finally won it 3-1 in 19 innings.
Amsterdam and Prague won on the last day to keep London and Warsaw out of the playoffs. The Crocs lost 6-3 to Paris to negate any chance they had.

Player Notes -

Urbanus Fuerst (Athens) and Lorenzo Gutierrez (Vienna) both had cycles in the second half of the season.
Berlin SS Luis Diaz had a 6 for 6 day in his team's 9-8 win over Prague on June 29th.
Twelve different players won the monthly awards. The hitters were - Max Sabin (Milan), Bruce Smith (Dublin), Philippe Martin (Milan), Jacquy Gilbert (Hamburg), Paulo Simon (Athens) and Holly Connich (Warsaw). The pitchers were - Gerd Buchert (London), Emanuel Biancardi (Amsterdam), Michal Slimak (Milan), Rory Begley (Warsaw), Alexis Martin (Copenhagen), Klement Follerup (Moscow).
Slimak won the August WL award after being traded from Copenhagen to the Mud Cats in July. Copenhagen were busy in the trade market as they powered through the second half of the season. They acquired 1B Rudolf Tuhina in the Milan trade and CF Emilio Zamora and SP Gaspar Kertesz in further trades with Madrid and Moscow respectively.
Kaspar Ahlmann (Berlin) had the best pitching performance of the second half with a two-hitter against Helsinki. He struck out 9 Diesel batters as the Dragons won 4-0.
Glasgow's Constantino Deodato has signed an extension to keep him in Scotland for two more seasons and to make him one of the highest paid players in the league in the process. He will earn $4.1M per year in the deal.
One EBL star who won't be on show in the playoffs is 2-time WL Pitcher of the Year Nike Rousakis. After a horrible start to the season, the 30 year-old has been sent down to AAA Manchester by the Milan Mud Cats and is not included on their playoff roster.

Significant Injuries -

Lisbon's poor second half can, in part at least, be attributed to the injury suffered by C Fernao Espinhel. He fractured an eye socket in early July and missed the rest of the season.
RF Miguel Barella (Athens) will be out for 12 months with a fractured cheek suffered when he was hit by a pitch.
Milan's Dennis Frangopoulos missed 6 weeks towards the end of the season with a knee injury. He will be ready to go for the playoffs.
