That stinks! I'm having the same problem. I get 170 logos for teams I don't use; some are the black blanks and others have the usual color with the ghost team's abbreviations.
I'm in the habit of deleting unnecessary files, such as message.dat, messages, game logs, etc., before backing up my saved game on an external hard drive. Now I must take the extra step of eliminating these additionally created logos before backing up. Not a big deal, but it is a pain.
