Dublin and Zurich played a 20 inning game in the first week of the season.
Contrasting fortunes for the UK teams - Glasgow started 17-4, whereas London won only 4 of their first 20 and really haven't got much better.
Dublin scored 10 runs in the 8th inning of a 22-7 victory over Amsterdam on May 8th.
Warsaw beat Prague 10-9 in a 17 inning game on June 14th. Prague scored 5 runs in the 9th to send it to extras then scored 3 in the 10th, but still lost.

Player Notes -

There have been a slew of 3-hitters and two 2-hitters in the first half. The two-hitters were thrown by Pasqualino Terragni (Lisbon) and Noah Flatoy (Oslo).
Paris C Fernao Espinhel had 5 RBI and 5 runs scored in a 17-5 win over Amsterdam on April 19th.
Malcolm Kennedy (Paris) has won the WL Pitcher of the Month award in both April and May. At the break he is 12-3 with a 1.32 ERA. Two Warsaw Wild pitchers have won the EL award - Francis Maze in April and free-agent signing Jesus Ruiz in May.
Two familiar names have won the WL Hitter of the Month award, whereas two lesser knowns have won the EL award. The WL award went to Max Sabin (Vienna) in April and Philippe Martin (Milan) in May. In the EL, the winners were Dragutin Vasiljevic (Helsinki) and Claudio DalMaistro (Oslo). DalMaistro celebrated his award by hitting a game-winning 3 run homer on June 1st.
Kristof Rozsa (Copenhagen) has set a new EBL record hitting streak at 37 games. At the break he is hitting .376.
Barcelona's Wilmar Dietzsch had 6 hits as his team beat Zurich 18-4 on June 6th.

Significant Injuries -

Steve Moynan (Moscow) was injured in early May and won't be back until July.
22 year-old RF Yoann Bernard (Paris), who is hitting .335, has a hernia injury and will be out until August.
Helsinki's best pithcer, Joseph Sykora, is out for the season with a tricep injury suffered on May 25th.
Igoryok Vishipanov (Athens) won't be able to repay his new team's investment in him this year, as he has a head injury that will keep him out for all of 1988 and will also rule him out of the upcoming European Championships for Russia.
