1874-1875 Offseason News
The Baltimore Canaries, after three seasons of finishing at or near the bottom of the standings, will not return for 1875. The Canaries were a league worst 57-105 over that time span, finishing in last place twice and in second to last the other season. A number of teams have joined the league in their stead. Those teams will be the Keokuk Westerns, New Haven Elm Citys, Philadelphia Centennials, St. Louis Brown Stockings, St. Louis Red Stockings, and Washington Nationals. That puts the league at its highest census ever with 13 teams.
