1989 Preview

March 31st 1989 - Less in the way of marquee free agents for the 1989 season. Theo Brittain has moved again (to his 4th different club in 9 years). He has ended up in Madrid, where he will be joined in the outfield by another new addition, Fabio Quinhones, fresh from winning the 1988 championship with Lisbon.

Berlin made a couple of decent additions in SP Francis Maze and CF Pablo Hernandez and should be in contention in the Baltic division.

The biggest name to move was Claudio Lwenholm, who also ended up in the Baltic division with the Hambrug Heat. His loss wil probably mean another rebuilding season for Amsterdam. Hamburg also acquired Wilmar Dietzsch in a trade with Barcelona. They gave up SP Quentin van Rossum in return.

1982's #1 draft pick, Volker Ziesemer, didn't live up to expectations in Barcelona and has been traded to Warsaw for not a lot in return.

Overall the top teams from last year will probably be in contention again.
