September 1: Warren G Harding beats James Cox and socialist Eugene V Debs to become the United States' newest President of the United States.
September 8: The League of Nations meets for the first time in Geneva. On the docket: splitting each subleague into divisions, and also an All Star Game.
September 11 (I can't make this date up): Bloody Sunday occurs. British forces open fire on spectators and players during a football match in Dublin's Croke Park, killing 14 Irish civilians. This followed the assassinations of 12 British agents by the IRA in an earlier attack elsewhere. -1 culture for London.
September 18: A referendum in Greece is partial to the restoration of the Greek monarchy.
September 23: Massive earthquake in China kills 180,000 people (no, that's not a typo).
