The rain delay in Game One allowed both the Aztecs and the Defenders to start their aces again on short rest. Unfortunately, only one of them pitched like an ace, and the end result was an easy Chicago victory that wrests back homefield advantage for the first round. 3B Tim Johnson led the hitting attack with 3 hits in 4 at-bats and 2 RBIs, including the game-winner.

For the second time in three games, the London Monarchs tried Fat Freddie Turvill, and for the second time in three games the Revolution tore him to shreds. This time he only lasted 5 innings before turning the game over to the bullpen. At that point, Lee MacKimmie (2-4, 5 saves, 3.90 ERA in the regular season) and Carl Shone (2-0, 4.09) promptly took a game the Monarchs had a slight chance of winning and made the deficit unbeatable. Herve Fischer, Dwight Bernard, and Didier Bouchard all had 3-hit games for Paris.
