Notes -

Berlin, Copenhagen and Hamburg were tied going into the last day, with Stockholm just 1 game back of them all. Only the Dragons won of the three top teams, meaning that they clinched the division title. The Lumberjacks also won, meaning we had a 3 way tie for the final wildcard spot. Copenhagen were eliminated because of their poor head-to-head record with the Heat and Lumberjacks, so Hamburg and Stockholm will meet for one game in Germany to decide who gets to play Athens in the first round of the playoffs.
Copenhagen had taken the division lead thanks to a 19-9 August, while Hamburg and Berlin were losing 17 and 15 respectively in the month.
Zurich lost on the last day to Milan to miss out on the postseason.
Athens scored 7 runs in the bottom of the 9th to beat Warsaw 10-9 on June 28th. Warsaw went on to struggle through the whole second half and fired their manager in September.
Vienna and Lisbon played 15 scorless innings on July 20th. The Renegades won 1-0 in 16.
London conceded 12 runs in the 9th in a 24-5 loss to Amsterdam on August 23rd. The next day they themselves scored 12 runs in the final frame to clinch a 17-7 win against Zurich.

Player Notes -

Stefan Kowleski (Glasgow) had 8 RBI in his teams 9-5 win against Milan on June 25th.
Eero Lehvaslaiho was 5/5 with a double, a homer, 6 RBI and 5 runs as he led the Barcelona Iguanas to a 18-4 win against Amsterdam on June 30th. Less than two weeks later he was traded to the Milan Mud Cats.
Another notable name traded was 1990's EL Rookie of the Year, Ricardo Trujillo. He had been demoted to AAA by Budapest, then he was traded to Vienna.
Twelve different players of the month in the second half. The hitters were Nicodemus Theothanou (Brussels), Bartolomej Burik (Zurich), Cheung 'The China Pole' Ying (Brussels), Artemis Vlakhou (Oslo), Augusto Rith (Warsaw) and Foppe Vlackenburgh (Budapest). The pitchers were Alois Maloney (Amsterdam), Panos Metrofanis (Vienna), Malcolm Kennedy (Dublin), Mirko Bukvajova (Stockholm), Rory Begley (Hamburg) and Vladimir Karakash (Sofia).
London's Matyash Pertusov threw a one-hitter against Dublin on July 3rd. There were one-hitter's later in the season for Gustavo Cardenas (Moscow), Liam Bosanquet (Budapest) and Michel Thiery (Oslo). These perfomances were all toped by two no-hitters in the first week of September. The first was thrown by Warsaw rookie Milovan Jokanovic against Prague, quickly followed by Sergej Vervoort (Brussels) against Zurich.
Alexander Parnevik (Milan) hit 3 solo home runs in his team's 10- win over Vienna on July 17th.
Thomas Meinert (Copenhagen) had a 3/3 day against Hamburgon August 16th, which took him to 2002 career hits. He is the first man to pass 2000 hits in the EBL.
Pauli Wertheim (London) successfully converted 51 save opportunities in a row (dating back to 1990).
Helmuth Seipel (Athens) has become the first EBL player to win a pitching triple crown. He led the EL in wins (21), ERA (2.82) and strikeouts (236).

Significant Injuries -

Halran Mcrea (Lisbon) will miss the playoffs and possibly the start of the 1992 season. He was not having an amazing season (.261/7/53 on September 4th), but his absence might affect the Renegades in the postseason, as he is one of their veteran leaders.
Wallace Zobel (Hamburg) who was named as the #1 prospect in baseball before the season, will miss most if not all of the 1992 season with an ankle injury. He was hitting .312 wth 14 HR and 76 RBI after 5 months of his first full season.
Another promising youngster, 22 year-old Teemu Tiilikainen (Amsterdam), will miss the first few months on the 92 season with an ankle injury. He had 29 HR on the season.
