1908 World Cup Qualifier
Baseball has begun growing across the globe, enough that there are now 14 countries participating in the IBF World Cup. Because of the quick growth in number of participants, the first ever World Cup Qualifiers will be held in 1908, for the 1909 World Cup (held in San Juan, Puerto Rico). The goal will be to limit the field to 8 participants in 1909; 3 from Europe, 3 from North America/Caribbean and 2 from the Inter-Continental Qualifier.
European Qualifier (6 teams): England, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland
Each team plays five games in Round-Robin play. Top 3 advance to World Cup, #4 and #5 advance to the Inter-Continental Qualifier.
North America/Caribbean Qualifier (6 teams): Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic Mexico, Puerto Rico, United States
Each team plays five games in Round-Robin play. Top 3 advance to World Cup, #4 and #5 advance to the Inter-Continental Qualifier.
Inter-Continental Qualifier (6 teams): Japan, Venezuela, Europe #4, Europe #5, NA/Carib #4, NA/Carib #5
Each team plays five games in Round-Robin play. Top 2 advance to World Cup.
