*waves hand* One of those would be me. I was in the league for a number of seasons, enjoyed it very much, but eventually left. One reason was that I was burnt out on OOTP, but another was that I was too frustrated with the snail's pace evolution of the league by way of rule changes and updating from 6.5. I never totally left the league, however, as I kept an eye on it from afar and interjected the occasional comment. I just adored the league too much to completely walk away. But now the league is finally upgrading to the latest version of the game and Chris (leagues don't always vote the way a commish leans, but in my experience they tend to) seems more interested in going with some rule changes that at least IMO make online leagues better.

That's not to say I don't think Chris is a top-notch commish, he is. I'm just the type of person who, if I'm really into something, constantly likes to try new things to see if they improve things while others seem to prefer the philosophy of, "it ain't broke, don't fix it". For a lot of people I think consistency is much more important anyway and Chris certainly has that. This will be the league's 27th season, going back to April of 2002 in real time, and Chris has been the commish for the entire time! Just think about that for a minute, folks. That's over 6 years in real time that he's run this league and I don't recall even one time that he's mentioned stepping down. And breaks in the league? They're practically non-existent and the odd time that he has gone away he's had people step in who have always done a fine job. Obviously it's got to end some day, but there's no signs of that day coming any day soon especially now that the league is converting to OOTP9.

It's an exciting time in the league's history and it almost seems like a rebirth which is always fun. I truly believe it's a great time to get involved with this league so sign up soon, before all the spots are taken. Heck, send Chris an email even after all the spots are taken and maybe we can convince the league to expand for next season! I'd love to see even more teams.
