Pool Standings after Day 4
France 3-1; Have Herault on mound vs. JAP on Day 5, win and they're in. Lose and would likely need a DOM loss
Mexico 3-1; Beat VEN on Day 5 and they're in, blowout loss to DOM could hurt if tie-breakers come into play
Dominican Republic 2-2; Win over MEX puts them back in it, need to win vs. IRE and have MEX/FRA both lose
Japan 2-2; longshot, would need to win big over FRA and have MEX lose big vs. VEN
Venezuela 2-2; even longer shot, but big win over MEX is a must
Ireland 0-4; What a disappointing ICQ for a team that expected to be in the WC1909

tie-breakers:
1. Record vs. tied teams
2. Cumulative score
3. Runs allowed
4. World Ranking

(Ed's note: To show how close this qualifier has been; there is a legit chance there could be a 5-way tie for 1st place at 3-2. Dominican Republic is +14 in cum. score due to their blowout of MEX. France is +1, Mexico is even, Japan is -3 and Venezuela is -6.)
