Overview
The 1920 season was over for the Matadors essentially before it started. We did not feel we had an adequate chance at taking home the European League shield and so at the end of spring training we traded our top two starters, Jesus Galvan and Mario Ramos, to the Mexico City Aztecs for a windmill of prospects. Actually if you look at our team as a whole it wasn't so much the pitching that did the team in as it was the hitting. Granted that the pitching did not help. What we're getting at is that maybe it was a good idea to get some of those hitting prospects.

Pitching
The Flying Morales Brothers led the rotation in 1920. The sons of a family of trapeze artists, these young men have different reasons for turning to baseball. The younger man Martin Morales chose the American sport because it is less strenuous than training his shoulder muscles to hold his entire body while flipping through the air. "One arm is better than two", he told us. His older brother Hector, though, has other ideas. "Hard work? I do not think that word means what he thinks it means." The elder Morales chose to pitch because he wanted to prove to the world the competitive fire of Spaniards.

Batting
All we can really say about this offense is that one of these days it will be quite formidable. Well, maybe. The team was fairly young but with no real superstars there may not be a whole lot of improvement out of this group. Felix Hernandez is fast, at least.
