Overview

If only we could have tossed out half a year... following the loss to Berlin on June 30, we were 17-32 and headed for dead last thanks in large part to the onerous reparations

levied upon us by the so-called Allies. However, we were able to throw off the shackles of domination the rest of the way and came surprisingly close to evening up our record by

the end of the year. Our general tactic was to drop easy ones against the good teams, thus lulling the league into a state of unconsciousness, then beating up on the bad clubs

in the league. This year, we're going to try and concentrate our losingness on our real allies, the Germans; maybe a couple extra wins from us will prove the difference.

Retirements

MR Max Plischke - A major player in 1919, he fell victim to the youth movement in 1920, playing in just 8 games and 15.1 innings.

Pitching

The pitching staff was essentially four men in size the entire year. The Musik featured 3 pitchers in the top 25 in innings pitched, quite a large number for a rebuilding team

if you ask us. Maybe the "re" should be lopped off as that implies there is some element in the past to build to. One guy who we did not include in our "basic four" was Simon

Stangassinger, who has one of the best names in the league. Say it out loud. Stangassinger. Stangassinger. It just sounds like a fastball or perhaps a bratwust sizzling past

you. A bratwurst that sizzles "past" you isn't maybe the kind of bratwurst you might enjoy but you get the drift.

Batting

To get this out of the way first: Veit Aehrenthal helped out immensely because he was the best player in the European League. The entire outfield was speedy and good: all three

starters bad at least 35 steals, and snagged stray fly balls with aplomb. The great news about the rest of the team is that they were so bad they should be easily replaceable.
