May 1: Warren G. Harding is sworn in as President of the United States and General Manager of the Cincinnati Reds.
May 1: Germany asks for reparations to be delayed or canceled and is denied forcefully. So forcefully, in fact, that the reparations extend to baseball. London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Moscow are all allowed to take a player from the Teutonic Knights in that order. The mini-draft goes as follows:
