May 1: Warren G. Harding is sworn in as President of the United States and General Manager of the Cincinnati Reds.

May 1: Germany asks for reparations to be delayed or canceled and is denied forcefully. So forcefully, in fact, that the reparations extend to baseball. London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Moscow are all allowed to take a player from the Teutonic Knights in that order. The mini-draft goes as follows:

London: SP Verner Schumann
Paris: CF Nisin Kirsch
Amsterdam: LF Kristian "Aurochs" Eckhardt
Brussels: SP Dustin Meise
Moscow: 3B Eustace Winschermann

May 7: The Russian White Army captures Mongolia from China, taking 2 Chinese ballplayers in the process. The players involved are a reserve pitcher and SP Luo-Han Thum (2-1, 4.33 ERA).

May 9: The Peace of Riga ends the Polish-Soviet War and frees all suspended Moscovian players to play once more.
