I just noticed that minor league free agency is disabled in this roster set. Is there a reason for that? Is it like Rule 5, where it was needed for the first season, but should be turned back on after that?

On a related note: is there a reason why many minor league players who had ML contracts at the beginning of the season IRL, only have MiL contracts in this roster set? I am ignorant as to why IRL clubs give these contracts to minor leaguers before they actually put them on the roster. MiL free agency doesn't seem to be the explanation. On the other hand, I only recently noticed that in OOTP, a first year ML player who ends up in the minors at the end of the season has his contract revert to MiL rather than a renewal of his ML contract as happens IRL most of the time. Is this just a defect in OOTP, or does it make sense to do it this way?

Can anyone shed any light on any of this?
