Boone Kirkman (8-1 2) vs. Buddy Baer – Baer came out blasting, socking Kirkman with a hook. Boone fought back, landing a vicious combination that caused a major cut over Buddy’s right eye. Never cautious, Baer through any defensive strategy to the winds, slamming home a solid left. Boone showed his fortitude, willing to slug it out with Baer, and landed a sweet hook, then a gonzo straight right at the bell that slowed big Buddy down! Kirkman took the round, 16-10, and the crowd cheered both men!

Buddy landed a few punches early in the 2nd, while Boone was trying to ward off his attempts and counter. Boone missed with a cross, and Baer slammed a hook home to the body. Boone winced and dropped to the canvas, in great pain! The fans stood there, shocked, as Kirkman was counted out, though he almost beat the count. The brutal body blow brought Baer a KO win at 1:46 of the 2nd!

Kirkman was dejected in a post-fight interview, acknowledging that he had got careless and given Baer an opening, and paid the price. He said he hoped for a rematch, but realized that the prospects for such may be remote. The Level 4 fighters are now 0 and 4. One will win for sure in the next fight, as the contestants are both Level 4!
