April 18,19,20 v Portsmouth Clippers (4-3)

April 18-The Mules offense pounded out 14 hits and eight runs, lead by Fernando Peralta, Ryan Vickerson and Millard Watkins, who each had three hits, and Roberto Rodriguez, who drove in three runs as Newmarket beat Portsmouth easily, 8-1. George Thomas allowed just one unearned run over seven innings, striking out six, earning the win. (7-1)

April 19-Portsmouth ended Newmarket's win streak at six in style, as Domingo Garcia went 4-4 with two homeruns, 4 RBI and three runs scored and Rob Gibson went 3-3 with three RBI and three runs scored as the Clippers hammered the Mules 11-1. (7-2)

April 20-Juan Munoz went 2-5 with 3 RBI, and Rob Gibson hit his 3rd homerun in two days, driving in a pair as Portsmouth beat Newmarket again, today 6-2. Victor Moreno went 3-5 with two runs scored in the win, and Luis Ortiz drove in a run for the Mules with a first inning double. (7-3)

April 22,23,24 at Durham Bobcats (7-4)

April 22-Tomas De Jesus pitched 8 1/3 innings of scoreless ball, allowing just six hits and one walk while striking out nine, and Jim Dunbar hit a two run homerun as the Bobcats blanked the Mules 4-0. Fernando Peralta was the lone bright spot for Newmarket as he picked up three hits in four at bats. (7-4)

April 23-William Vinson homered twice, driving in 3, and Richard Batterham went 4-5 with two RBI as Durham beat up on Newmarket, winning 9-3. Ronald Combs went 2-5 with three RBI for the victors while Roberto Rodriguez hit a solo HR amongst his three hits for the Mules in the loss. (7-5)

April 24-Durham completed the sweep of the Mules, and extended Newmarket's losing streak to five games, as SS Bryan Bowles, who came into the game hitting .150 homered and C William O'Halloran, coming into the game hitting .190 hit a tie breaking two run shot in the 8th inning giving the Bobcats a 4-2 win over the Mules. Roberto Rodriguez homered for a 2nd straight day in a losing effort. (7-6)

Contract News:

Richard Kinneir and the Nashua Titans have come to terms on a three year deal worth 6.6 million dollars. The 33 year old C is hitting .535 with 4 HR and 11 RBI thusfar on the season.
