Notes -

No really tight races this season. Zurich won 21 games in July to move into pole position for the first WL wildcard spot. Glasgow won 14 games in a row in August, but were too far out to make any real noise. Athens won on the last day to keep Hamburg out of the post-season.
Amsterdam had one of the most exciting wins of the season as they scored 4 in the 8th and 5 in the 9th to beat London 10-9. Bemus Korais homered in both the 8th and 9th innings.
Lisbon scored 10 runs in an inning as they beat London 16-1 on August 6th.

Player Notes -

Samuel Polach (Budapest) got the second half of the season going with a 6 RBI performance against Stockholm. This was topped later in the season by a 7 RBI day from Jimmy O'Brien (Copenhagen), which was itself beaten by Lewis MacHutchin's 8 RBI day for Dublin against London in a 20-6 win. Paulus Penning (Lisbon) and Mang Vogel (Brussels) also had 7 RBI games later in the season.
Zurich's Joakim Tronstad was 6-for-6 in his team's 8-7 win against Brussels in late June.
There were 12 different award winners again. The hitters were - Nicodemus Theothanou (Brussels), Teemu Tiilikainen (Amsterdam), Paulus Penning (Lisbon), Vilfred Krak (Warsaw), Czieslaw Lubelsky (Budapest) and Daniel Keurost (Athens). The winning pitchers were - Raynaud Mori (Lisbon), Laurent Bois (Zurich), Alexander Schimpf (London), Anibal Escamila (Hamburg), Shurik Chanyshev (Berlin) and Rory Begley (Hamburg). Begley passed 200 wins during the season. A landmark also achieved by James McIlwraith (Brussels)
Thomas Meinert (Copenhagen) became the first EBL player to pass 2500 hits. He finished the year with 2586. Vilfred Krak (Warsaw) was himself the first man to pass 400 Home Runs on his career.
Artemis Vlakhou (Stockholm) topped off a 5/5 day by hitting the game winning 3-run homer in a 5-3 win over Athens on July 14th.
Bernhard Grondgrens (Zurich) threw an 11 inning shutout against Paris on July 23rd as the Jesters won 1-0.
A couple of mid-level stars were traded for each other in July. Sander Klaeboe left Olso to join Stockholm, with Alberik Landgre going the other way.
Clodio Picano (Helsinki) was the only man to hit a cycle in 1994. The only man to hit 3 homers in a game was Philippe Martin (Athens).
There were quite a few one-hitters late in the season, but they were all topped by Helmuth Seipel's no-hiter for Budapest against Berlin on September 14th.

Significant Injuries -

Ex-EL Pitcher of the Year, Jouni Hernesniemi (Helsinki), missed 5 weeks spanning all of July with a tricep problem.
Vienna's Alois Freindametz missed 5 weeks with a back injury.
Samuel Polach (Budapest) missed the last 4 weeks of the season.
It was a similar story for Philander Paraskevopoulos (Athens), who should be back for the start of the playoffs for the Avalanche.
