I find the transfer of league cumbersome due to the sheer volume of files.
So what I do is keep the league on my desktop and use the great free VPN ( https://secure.logmein.com/products/free/) to control the desktop when I want to play on the laptop.
In fact I have next to nothing on my laptop and simply use it with log me in to remote back and keep everything on the desktop.
Of course the primary benefits are to access your email, files, etc
