July 8,9,10 at Portland Bulldogs (32-47)

July 8-Fernando Garcia came out of the game after the first inning with an apparant elbow injury, an injury that would be diagnosed as a season ending ligament fray, and this would open the door for Portland, as Jason Tate went 3-4 with a homer, two RBI and two runs scored as Portland doubled up the Mules, winning 6-3. Jose Barron went eight innings, allowing six hits and three runs to go along with three walks and six strikeouts, earning the win. (36-43)

July 9-Dennis Spears went 2-4 with a pair of homeruns, three RBI and four runs scored, and Todd Lewis went 4-5 with three RBI as Newmarket hammered Portland 15-2. Alberto Flores and Roberto Rodriguez each homered in the win for the Mules. Jesus Guardado pitched seven innings, allowing five hits and no walks to go along with four strikeouts, earning the win. (37-43)

July 10-Fernando Peralta homered, doubled and drove in a pair of runs, and Dan Zimmerman pitched eight innings, allowing five hits and one run, walking one walk and seven strikeouts as Newmarket squeaked past Portland 3-2. Dave Phillips picked up the loss, despite going 8 2/3 innings, striking out 10. (38-43)

July 11,12,13 at Dover Green Wave (51-31)

July 11-Roberto Rodriguez hit a two run HR in the top of the 10th inning to spearhead a three run inning, and John Coury struggled, but held off the Green Wave, as Newmarket beat Dover 7-6. Rodriguez went 4-4 with a pair of RBI and Mario Decos added his 18th HR of the year and two RBI in the win for the Mules, while Pablo Lucero went 3-5 with a homer and two RBI in a losing cause for the Green Wave. (38-44)

July 12-Felix Rivera homered and drove in a pair of runs, and Patrick Gilbert and Jeffrey Franklin each added two hits and an RBI as Dover got past Newmarket 5-4. Alberto Flores went 2-4 with three RBI for the Mules in the loss. Ryushi Oda went eight innings, giving up five hits and striking out five, picking up his 12th win of the year. (38-45)

July 13-Patrick Gilbert homered twice and Pablo Lucero added a two run shot as Dover doubled up Newmarket 8-4. Don Behan and Felix Rivera each had two hits for the Green Wave who took two of three games from the Mules. Alberto Flores had three hits and an RBI for the Mules and Roberto Rodriguez added a pair of doubles and an RBI in a losing cause. (38-46)

-The Nashua Titans have come to terms on a new three year contract for reliever Francis Williams. The 32 year old Williams is 3-1 with a 3.03 ERA on the year. He has appeared in 29 games, covering 32 2/3 innings, allowing 27 hits and 10 walks with 30 strikeouts. The deal calls for Williams to be paid just under $2.2 million dollars.
