The story of 1895 thus far has been the Philadelphia Phillies. A team which struggled in recent seasons, the Phils have shown surprisingly strong play this season and are currently sitting on top of the National League standings, but just a game ahead of the ever-powerful Baltimore Orioles.
There's a tight group of clubs just behind Baltimore as well, with Brooklyn, Pittsburgh and Louisville ready to jump ahead should either of the top two teams falter.

Harvey Cart looks like he's finally matured into the star player observers have been waiting on since he broke into the National League in 1890 as an 18-year-old. Cart currently leads the League in hitting with a .387 mark.
