Nothing much has changed in the first two weeks of August. The Phillies continue to sit on top of the standings, with the Champion Orioles just one game behind. Brooklyn has edged ahead of the other competitors in the next group of teams and is just one behind Baltimore. Two behind the Bridegrooms are Louisville and Pittsburgh.

Brooklyn's Harvey Cart is hitting .399 to lead the loop and holds a sizable lead over Shooter Smith (.378) of Washington. Baltimore's Rick Kushner is once again the class of the pitching corps with 24 victories and a 2.99 earned run mark, both tops in the league.
