The 1895 regular season is in the books. Brooklyn did manage to hold off all comers to clinch the club's first pennant since they took three straight from 1890-92. The loss of Jim Cahoon didn't seem to have much impact on the Bridegrooms, even though young Buck Roberts hit just .222 in his place in the lineup.
The battle for second-place was a tight one - and required a playoff to determine who would get to face the Bridegroom's for William Temple's Cup. Louisville and Baltimore squared off in an "extra" game with the winner getting at least another four contests - and the extra gate receipts that come with them. I won't spoil the outcome -

The awards will be announced in the next post along with the Temple Cup victors as part of the 1895 season wrap-up.
