July 11-Many wondered what Dover manager Mahny Apbar was doing when he intentionally walked Roberto Rodriguez in a 4-3 game to bring up Quint Kobes, who had already hit three grand slams on the year, and the decision will continue to be questioned as Kobes hit a 3-1 pitch into the centerfield bleachers and helping the Mules take two of three from Dover, winning 8-3. Luis Ortiz hit a two run double and Juan Escobedo added two hits and two runs scored for Newmarket in the win. Jesus Guardado pitched seven innings, allowing seven hits and three runs, two earned with one walk and seven strikeouts, matching his career high with 15 wins on the year, and has a real good shot at 20 victories this season.
