I am thinking that the best way to get realistic pitcher usage AND somewhat realistic complete games numbers would be to use Garlon's recommended settings and to adjust the top two or three starters on each team to where they don't get as quick of a hook. However, given the effort involved in making all of those changes, I'm wondering what the trade-off would be by instead simply bumping the Use Closers setting down just a tad (to either "often" or "normal"). It might not be as good of a solution, but perhaps it's a viable, simpler alternative? Or not... Before testing these ideas, I thought I'd throw it out there for Garlon or anyone else to comment on, just in case they've tried it or have some other insight.
And Garlon, thanks again for all the useful insider info...
