The Orono Red Riot have sent OF Jarrod Clark to the Portland Bulldogs for 2B Albert Grimes. Last year, Clark hit .241 with 10 homeruns and 39 RBI in 345 AB's for Orono, and is a career .234 hitter in 259 games. Grimes hit .227 with three HR and 12 RBI in limited play time last year for the Bulldogs. He hit .243 with three homeruns and 24 RBI to go along with 23 doubles in 288 AB's in 2009 for Portland.
-Exeter and Portland have completed a trade
that sees the Blue Hawks send surprising rookie OF Sorai Tanaka to the Bulldogs for RP Ruben Arevalo, his 4th team in two years. Tanaka burst onto the scene last year, hitting .270 with 16 homeruns and 33 RBI in just 237 AB's for Exeter. Arevalo was 3-1 with a 3.42 ERA for the Bulldogs last year in 37 games. He pitched 47 1/3 innings, allowing 36 hits and 21 walks, while striking out 39.

Nashua trades 27 year old OF Gene Briton to the Oyster River Bobcats for 26 year old SP Ernesto Garcia. Briton hit .291 with three homeruns and 16 RBI for the Titans a year ago, after spending parts of the previous two seasons bouncing back and forth between Peabody and their AAA affiliate. Garcia was 12-8 with a 3.77 ERA in 28 starts a year ago. He pitched 184 innings, allowing 164 hits, walking 52 and striking out 122. He has a career mark of 41-22 with a 3.02 ERA, all with the Bobcats.
