Notes -
Oslo swept Warsaw in their final series to force a play-in game against Budapest for the last playoff spot.
Lisbon won 12 in a row in July to move into contention, but then lost 12 in a row in August to fall back out.
Moscow fired their GM in the middle of a 14 game losing streak in which they conceded 124 runs.
London were 10-19 in July to let the rest of the division back in, then Glasgow went 20-8 in August to take control.
Barcelona went 6-22 in August, but were always in charge of the Meditteranean division.
Vienna went 6-17 in September to fall out of the playoffs.
Sofia led the EL in runs scored and runs allowed.
Player Notes -
Thomas Meinert (Stockholm) took only 2 games to get the 3 hits he needed to reach 3000 hits in his career.
Vilfred Krak (Dublin) and
Daniel Keurost (Athens) both later passed the 2500 hit plateau, making 7 men in that group. Four men also reached 300 Home Runs for their career -
Bernard Wulker (Berlin),
Stefan Kowelski (Glasgow),
Max Sabin (London) and
Jason Dyer (Hamburg).
There were two no-hitters in the space of three days in September.
Karcsi Csontas (Amsterdam) shut out Dublin on 2 walks and
Gwidon Dobrzynski (Dublin) walked 5 Vienna batsmen in a 2-0 win.
Paco Quinonez (Vienna) hit for the cycle in his team's 15 inning win over London on July 2nd.
Carlos Cavazos (Madrid) had a cycle later in the season as well.
Czieslaw Lubelsky (Budapest) had 3 of the best batting performances of the second half with a 3 HR, 7 RBI day against Berlin, another 7 RBI day against Athens and a 6 RBI effort against Stockholm. He also won the EL July Hitter of the Month award (two of these games were in July) with a .408/14/44 statline for the month.

The Pitcher of the Month awards were won by

Placido Gamboa (Madrid),
Milorad Celebic (Oslo),
Vaino Saraste (Sofia) and
Jouni Hernesniemi (Helsinki).
Lars-Erik Tommeras (Madrid) saw a successfully converted save opportunity sttreak of 50 come to an end late in the season. This is the 3rd best streak ever of this nature.
Significant Injuries -
Mende Agro (Glasgow) injured himself in the first game after the break and will not be back in the playoffs. He had a .325/8/29 first half of the season.
Bohdan Leibovic (Lisbon) missed a month with a torn rotator cuff.
Flip van den Bosch (Sofia) will miss the playoffs because of a broken arm. He also missed the last 4 weeks of the regular season, finishing with 21 homers and 88 RBIs.
Jesus Ruiz (Warsaw) missed 4 weeks with a bicep problem.
Richard Fabre (Vienna) celebrated his WL August Hitter of the Month by straining his achilles and missig the last 3 weeks of the season. He hit .330 with 19 homers on the season.
Paulus Penning (Sofia) will miss the start of the playoffs with a hand problem.
Jay Kerr (Berlin) has had to retire because of a skull injury suffered when he was hit by a pitch. The #6 overall pick in the 1984 draft won two EBL titles whilst with the Dragons and picked up 6 Glove of the Year Awards at third base, including 5 in a row from 1990 to 1994. He was a career .281 hitter with 551 lifetime RBIs.
