Well, my Whalers looked good early, taking a 2-1 series lead against San Antonio. But they coughed up a 4-1 eighth inning lead in Game 5, and didn't put up a fight in Game 6. So it was an early playoff exit for the Whale. (Sounds familiar, doesn't it?)
In the other American League series, Baltimore was three outs from winning the series in Game 6, but Cleveland scored two runs in the bottom of the 12th to survive, and then the Indians won Game 7.
In the National League, the defending champion .500 Nationals didn't put up much of a fight against 100-victory Houston, who took a 3-0 series lead and won in five games.
San Francisco won the first two games at home against St. Louis, but the series momentum turned in the Gateway City where the Cardinals won all three, and then clinched in Game 6 back in the Bay area. Game 5 was pretty crazy. The Giants led 2-0 heading into the bottom of the 8th, but the Cardinals scored six runs for a 6-2 lead. The Giants scored four in the top of the 9th to tie it up, only to see the Cardinals win on a two-run homer in the bottom of the 9th.
So the League Championship Series will be:
San Antonio Roadrunners vs. Cleveland Indians
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Houston Astros
