BALTIMORE — Less than 24 hours after firing Buddy Bell as manager, the Orioles have hired Bryan Simpson to take the reigns of the team with baseball's worst record.

Simpson, 40, managed the San Francisco Giants' rookie league team in Miami earlier this season to a 16-35 record. He owns a 77-98 record as a minor league manager with San Francisco's organization.
